The Apex Lions annual fish fry is one of only a few fund raising events held each year.  This year the March fish fry was another success thanks to your participation - in spite of the rainy day.  Approximately 500 pounds of whiting fillets were cooked and served with potatoes, slaw and hush puppies. The slaw was homemade from 250 pounds of cabbage.  In addition, many homemade desserts were available as well as beverages.  And this great meal was available as eat-in or take-out.

So, thank you for your support  and please join us again in 2008, March 21st to be precise.  This all takes place in downtown Apex at the CC Jones building on Holleman Street between 11:00AM and 7:00PM.

As with our major fund raising activity for the year, our booth at the State Fair, proceeds from the fish fry are used to support many community organizations like Cub Scout Pack 312; Boy Scout Troop 209; the Western Wake Crisis Ministries; and the Apex Police Explorer Post. In addition to these local efforts, the Lioins provide services to the blind and vision impaired, from everyday assistance like free eye exams for those in need, to the NC Lion’s summer camp for the blind, Camp Dogwood.   So, once again, thank you for your past support and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
